Brian Farrow is a multi-instrumentalist who studied at Howard University under world renowned jazz bassist Steve Novosel, classical bassist Jeffrey L. Koczela, Howard University Jazz band leader Fred Irby, and heavyweight saxophonist Charlie Young. He later attended the University of the District of Columbia and played in the UDC Jazz Band under Allyn Johnson. He's played in the DMV area with such groups/acts/artist as NIH Philharmonia, The Delafield String Band, yU of Diamond District, Prince George's Philharmonic, Sitali, Nila Kay, Justin Trawick, Rana Mansour, Wanees Zarour and Huda Asfour. He had the opportunity to perform before President Barack Obama as a member of 19th St. Baptist’s praise team and abroad at the famed Paradiso in Amsterdam. He has toured with Jonny Grave, Paperhaus, The Hackensaw Boys, Letitia Van Sant, and currently Grammy award winning artist Dom Flemons the American Songster.
Brian teaches beginning-to-advanced double bass, and beginning-to-advanced fiddle/violin and viola. He works in a broad range of styles such as folk (stringband, old time, bluegrass), jazz, classical, rock/pop, hip-hop/R&B and Gospel. He also specializes in early childhood lessons (as young as 2 years old).

Lessons are $45 per 1/2 hour, $65 per hour and are held at the instructor's residence in NW DC (Tenleytown). For an additional fee, Brian also gives in-home lessons within the DC metro area.
