Ken Giles

Violin and fiddle: all styles, all levels

Ken Giles is a retired music teacher at Shepherd Elementary School where he taught general music, violin, and guitar. He continues to teach violin at the D.C. Youth Orchestra. He is a gradulate of Interlochen Arts Academy, Swarthmore College, and Suzuki String Institute.

Ken also sings with the D.C. Labor Chorus and has performed with several folk music ensembles over the past 40 years. Students of all ability levels are accepted, beginners as young as 5 years old.

Lessons are $30 per 1/2 hour, $50 per hour and are held the House of Musical Traditions' teaching studios at 7008 Westmoreland Ave, Takoma Park, MD. This is next door to our store location at 7010 Westmoreland. This location is walking distance from the Takoma Metro station, and free parking is available in the lot behind our store.
