This electric guitar was handmade by Doug Rumpf. Mr. Rumpf was a talented guitar builder living in Mt. Airy, MD. He passed away last year, and we have been assisting the family with settling the estate by offering his guitars for sale, as well as his large collection of effects pedals and vintage amplifiers (some of which he rebuilt/modded). He was not a performer, and seems to be relatively unknown in the local music community - but when we observed the artistry and attention to detail he put into his guitar building, this is quite surprising. Even his family was unaware of the depth of his skills.
All of his guitars feature very high quality materials, pickups, tuners, fret material, and soldering work. They have been thoroughly inspected in our shop and set up/adjusted as needed. Due to Mr. Rumpf's obscurity these will likely not become sought-after collector's instruments - but we encourage you to trust your ears and the feel of the axe and not the label on the headstock.
"Westernfire" has a beautifully flamed top and Longhorn cutout in the upper bout. It has a mini humbucker in the neck and single coil bridge pickup.
