Philip P. Horoschak was a musician, instrument-maker and woodworker in Pennsylvania, who passed away in 2010. Over the years, he made 7 hurdy gurdies (from scratch, not from kits), and sold 4 of them to individuals. The Horoschak family sold us two of the remaining gurdies, which we are now offering (the other one is listed for sale here).
This is a 4-string, 8-key gurdy with an oval body and parrot designs on the top. Wooden friction pegs. After a decade in storage, it was determined that a restring would be necessary, so we had our technician restring and do some additional adjustments. It's now in good playing condition.
