1930 Vega Vegaphone Deluxe 5-string banjo in excellent condition!
This pristine example of the fairly rare Vegaphone Deluxe has been fully restored by our senior luthier. This banjo has been completely disassembled to clean and polish all parts and has had a new mylar head installed. Matching serial number on inner rim and dowel show that both are original to this banjo. Some modifications have been made to the original neck; gold planetary geared tuners, a geared fifth peg and a non original "Vega Artist" tailpiece have been added to the banjo.
The inlay between the 16th and 17th fret has a blank pearl rectangle. We feel that this would be for the name of the owner. That open spot lends credence to the theory that this was a “Presentation” model, and of course, all the inlays, gold plating, upgrade tailpiece, gorgeous heel carving also support “Presentation” moniker.
