- Thursdays, May 2, 9, 16, 23 & 30; 8:00-8:45pm **
- Held at School of Musical Traditions (1097 Rockville Pike, Rockville, MD)
- Cost: $50 per 5-week session, OR $12 per session on a drop-in basis, if you cannot attend all sessions.
Choose your option(s) in the drop-down menu above. If purchasing multiple drop-in sessions, add all the sessions you want to attend to your cart before checking out. Though you are welcome to walk in and pay at the door, there is a limit of 12 people per session, so we encourage registering & paying online in advance.
Looking to get out into the world with your instrument? We’ll help you understand how to follow a chord structure and play along to lyrics. You’ll be ready to go to local jams, play around a campfire, and accompany yourself on your favorite songs. We’ll primarily work out of the Rise Up Singing books, and will pull songs from other sources according to the interests of the group.
This class is geared towards adult and high school learners who can play a little bit already. Students should be able to tune their own instrument, play a few chords & strumming patterns (guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, etc.), and/or play simple melodies and scales (fiddle, harmonica, etc.).
** In case the instructor or studio need to cancel a session, a makeup session will be offered on June 6.
