Made by the Oscar Schmidt company, labeled A. Galiano, ca. 1925.
Very solid and healthy, medium grade, early 20th-century mandolin with a clear, open sound. Rosewood back, spruce top, probably cherry neck, and new ebony fretboard and bridge and bone nut - major upgrade!
Not real fancy, some honest wear, but no cracks or structural issues. Low action plays great. Galiano was one of the better brands of the Oscar Schmidt company. Reconditioned and set up by our senior luthier. Light gauge strings recommended.
Chipboard case included.
