This handsome fiddle from the late 1800s was recently acquired in an estate sale and restored by our HMT luthier, who fixed a crack in the top/lower bass bout/several cleats, reglued the seams, and fitted the instrument with a new nut and strings.
Our in-store violin expert described its sound as "bright, but not muted; clear and sweet with very defined resonance!"
With a solid spruce top and flamed maple back and sides, this German-made violin also features some lovely double purfling; a large Brecian-style body, a 2-piece back of broad descending curl; and matching ribs. Nut measures 7/8"and the scale measures 13". Hard case included!
