Four-piece rosewood flute with one brass key, made by C.G. Christman in New York, ca. 1850. Headjoint is stamped "CG Christman | 404 | Pearl Street | New York. Other pieces are stamped CG Christman.
Plays slightly sharp from A=440, but this can be ameliorated by using a different headstock (we can put you in touch with Patrick Olwell for one). Some wear on headjoint, but overall good condition - appears to have been recently re-corked; joints are solid and no cracks evident. A nice early American flute.
