Top-of-the-line "Star" model dulcimer made by acclaimed maker Dennis Dorogi in 1972. Excellent condition. Previous owner purchased about 10 years ago and has kept it in fine shape. Our luthier filled a gap between the tail block and body, and retouched the finish. Four strings (double melody), curly maple with hand painted red striping and gold stars. Hand carved friction pegs and an ivory nut and ivory bridge. Measures 36" x 7 1/2" x 3 1/2".
A plush-lined hardshell Harptone case is included, as well as original sales brochure & care flyer, and set of Dennis Dorogi Dulcimer strings.
The melody strings have a sweet feathery tone, nicely balanced. The middle drone string has a warm mid-high tone while the bass string adds a solid but not an overwhelming bottom end.
