An excellent vintage find! Kamaka Gold Label soprano uke made in Hawai, ca. 1950s. All solid koa, with top binding.
Our senior luthier reglued & cleaned the neck/body joint and several loose seams. He also replaced two missing frets, resurfaced the fret board, fabricated a new rosewood nut and did a general setup. It's now playing wonderfully!
A newer Lanikai-brand hard foam case is included.
This instrument was part of the collection of the late Johnny Fox, sword-swallower and performer for many years at the Maryland Renaissance Festival, who passed away from cancer in late 2017. We are selling it on behalf of Johnny's estate.
