Marta Samuel (violin, viola, piano) graduated in 2006 from Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in music, specializing in viola performance. After graduation, she was assigned as a teacher at the Yared School of Music in Addis Ababa for 10 years, and also worked as the school director for 2 years. Throughout her teaching years, she gained performance experience by participating in solo concerts, quartet and classical string chamber groups, and symphony orchestras.
Marta also acquired her M.A. degree in Multicultural and Multilingual Education from AAU in 2012. In order to advance her music teaching career at higher education levels, she took the Higher Diploma Program from College of Performing & Visual Arts at AAU. All of these experiences have enhanced her skills as a music teacher in one-to-one and group instrumental teaching techniques. She also has musical performance and workshop experience in Germany, Ireland and Spain. Marta is excited to be a teacher at House of Musical Traditions and is dedicated to helping her students find a love and appreciation for music! She takes students as young as 3 years old in the Suzuki method.

Lessons are $30 for 30 minutes and $60 for 60 minutes, and are held in Takoma Park or Silver Spring, MD. Lessons in your home may also be possible, depending on location & time.
