Also spelled "Dumbek" or "Dumbec," this drum is named for the doum and bek sounds made by striking the center and near the rim. This is the traditional Middle Eastern bellydance drum, but it has become bopular in many different kinds of music today. Available with metal and ceramic bodies, this is perhaps the most versatile drum we carry.
These are the choice of many professional players. Made in either Turkey or Egypt, they feature tuneable synthetic (mylar) heads with a smooth comfortable rim. The playing surface measures 8.6 inches, and the drum stands about 17 inches tall.
Tuning wrench, soft case and extra head are included.
Color options depend on what our supplier has in stock at any given time. "Olive" color is pictured - black, blue, bronze and other colors may be available. Please indicate if you have a color preference or are flexible on colors in the "notes" section of your order.
