Avalon Plectrum Banjo (used)

$ 575.00
Ca. 1930-40, possibly made by Wm. Lange. The plectrum banjo has the scale length and tuning(s) of a 5-string, without the 5h string. The Avalon name was owned by Henry Stadlmair Company of New York City. Many of their instruments were made for them by Wm. Lange, as this may well be. Extremely solid and well-constructed, with quality hardware: beautiful heavy rim, tone ring similar to the Vega Little Wonder, 20 flat hooks, L-shoes, heavy tension hoop. Mahogany neck with dyed pearwood fretboard and faceplate. New fiberskyn head and planetary geared tuners. Fully reconditioned, ready to play. Guaranteed 90 days for structural integrity and playability by luthier-owner. No case included, but will fit any openback 5-string case.
