Already know a little bit about clawhammer banjo? Phillips will lead you through alternate open tunings commonly used in old-time music. You’ll learn several tunes and polish your right-hand technique, and learn how to hold your own in an old-time jam.
This class is geared towards adult and high school learners who have some experience with clawhammer. No need for perfectly polished technique, but students should generally be able to hold down the “bum-ditty” with their right hand.
** In case the instructor or studio need to cancel a session, a makeup session will be offered on June 6.
