D.J. Hodson Djangolin Gypsy Jazz Mandolin (used)

Regular price $ 900.00

Gypsy jazz-style mandolin with oval hole built by the late David Hodson in the U.K. #218, one of his earlier djangolins, with mahogany back & sides (probably solid, but we can't be 100% sure) and solid headstock. Later versions had rosewood back & sides and slotted headstocks. Has a sweeter sound than standard F-style mandolins, but still has considerable volume. Scale length is 14.5".

This instrument has had two owners. The former owner purchased it in 2010 from the Canadian original owner. Overall it's in very good condition. There is a very slight top depression which the former owner says has been there since they purchased it - but no loose braces or other issues - very stable.

A very nice oblong tweed TKL hard case is included.
