Manuel Contreras 1968 Brazilian Rosewood Classical Guitar (used)

Regular price $ 4,900.00

One of the most exquisite-sounding classical guitars we've had in our shop in recent memory! Made in 1968 by Manuel Contreras in the 80 Calle Mayor Madrid shop (label has Contreras' signature). Solid cedar top and gorgeous, solid Brazilian Rosewood back & sides. Fustero tuners. Neck width at nut measures just a hair over 2 inches, and scale length is 650mm. Original hardshell case included, in good condition (there is a mark from old sticker on the top).

Our senior luthier repaired a 6" top crack below the bridge, cleaned the frets and fretboard, and restrung with D'Addario normal tension strings. Our luthier noted previous professionally repaired cracks: on either side of fretboard extension, and two cracks on butt-end. All deemed stable and not of concern. Bridge, neck angle, etc are in good shape and the guitar plays nicely.

This guitar cannot be shipped out of the continental US due to the inclusion of Brazilian Rosewood.
