Offered on consignment is this gorgeous Brazilian Rosewood Martin D-28 from 1956 (serial 150465), with LR Baggs M80 soundhole pickup.
This guitar has been owned since the mid 1970s by a well-respected musician in our area who takes great care of his instruments. He has played it in bands ranging from bluegrass, folk, country and rock to swing, blues and more. He comments that it performs in superior fashion in every application, rings like a bell and the neck is a dream! Though he hates to part with it, it's time to pare down his collection and pass it on to a new loving owner.
All repairs/maintenance since he has owned it have been performed by our senior luthier Steve Carmody, a Martin-authorized warranty repairman. Work has included:
- a headstock repair in the early 1980s; has been stable with no issues since
- tuning machines upgraded
- pickup installation
- regular setups
The finish color has aged nicely over the years. There is some cosmetic wear as you will see in the photos, commensurate with age and frequent use in performance settings, but absolutely no structural issues, cracks, neck issues, etc. No visible fretwear. 1 3/4" nut width.
3-ply black hardshell case included.
Fully insured UPS ground shipping within the continental US is calculated at $110. To some destinations on or closer to the east coast, it may be slightly less - we will adjust if needed. Inquire for expedited options (include your ZIP code). Due to the inclusion of Brazilian Rosewood, this item cannot be shipped internationally.
