Made in 1969 by Japanese luthier Masaru Kohno, labeled No. 5. Cedar top, Brazilian rosewood back & sides. Recently set up with frets crowned and polished in our shop. Hardshell case included.
This guitar's action adjustability is maxed out in its current state, but most players should find the action (measuring 9/64" on high E and 10/64" on low E) to be quite playable. Modifications could be made by a luthier, with some investment.
The guitar has some finish damage on the butt end where it must have taken an impact at some point. But our luthier has examined the interior in this area and can find no structural issues, so it is cosmetic only. There are some light finish dings here and there on the sides of the guitar.
Nut width is 2 inches, scale length 26 inches (660.4mm)
Though not a perfect 10, it plays nicely and has a rich tone - a good deal on a Brazilian classical from a desirable luthier.
