McIlroy AS55C Acoustic Guitar (used)

Regular price $ 4,100.00

Small body jumbo guitar w/cutaway built by McIlroy Guitars of Ireland (Dermot McIlroy worked with Lowden for 10 years). Solid Western Red Cedar Top, solid Cocobolo back and sides. Professional setup in our shop.

This guitar has some previously-repaired damage on the lower bout treble side. Our luthier examined it and found it to be structurally sound, though it's not the cleanest repair cosmetically. He was uncertain whether opening it again would make it look any better, so we opted to leave it as-is. The guitar does play wonderfully, with no structural concerns.

From McIlroy's website on the AS series:

The AS series is a small jumbo similar in size to a classical guitar. Although a little less in volume than any of the other models, its size still belies the volume which these guitars can produce. Many of our customers find this guitar a much more manageable size, especially classical players and those more used to the OM size of guitar.
