This guitar was made by a student at the Galloup School of Lutherie in Big Rapids, MI. Based on the serial number, the school was able to tell us this guitar was made in 2014 by Jacob Klag, who enrolled in the Master Program at that time. It appears Mr. Klag now operates the Fretboard Rehab shop in NH.
This guitar has a solid spruce top, solid flamed maple back & sides, ebony fretboard & bridge, maple binding, and Gotoh tuners. Nut width is 1.75". The construction is quite good; we would put it at a professional level. Condition is excellent. This guitar was purchased by the previous owner on eBay (possibly from the maker). Hardshell case is included.
The Monarch body was designed by Bryan Galloup of Galloup Guitars and features a slimmer waist and curvier shoulders than a Dreadnought. It has a well-balanced tone and is a versatile instrument that would make an excellent choice for singer-songwriters, finger style players, or anyone who wants a great-sounding guitar that is a joy to play.
