Santur (Persian hammered dulcimer), thought to be from Iran. This instrument comes to us from a well-respected hammered dulcimer player who also studied santur, and is lightening their collection. This santur was used for performance and recording.
This is a professional model with two sets of nine bridges that provide three octaves. It is in good condition, set up for the standard 3 octave tuning, with a walnut finish. The recommended tuning is Traditional Fifth Interval. Accessories included are: 5 pairs of hand-made wooden Mezrabs (mallets) light weight and well balanced; 2 tuning wrenches, an extensive collection of Persian music books for a Santur student or professional, extra strings, extra bridges, and a hard case.
