Intro to Adobe Premiere Pro: From Phone Performance to Professional Video:
Adobe Premiere Pro is the industry-leading video editing software for film, TV, and the web. Local award-winning singer-songwriter and instructor Lea Morriswill take you through the basics of this program, from importing to basic video editing to exporting, so that your home-made performance videos have a more polished look.
If you took our GarageBand basics workshop in June, or have a working knowledge of any DAW, this is the final step before learning to create virtual choir videos. Another workshop on combining skills from GarageBand and Adobe Premiere will be offered in September.
Adobe Premiere Pro has a monthly subscription cost of $20.99 (or $19.99 for students & educators if you register with a .edu email address). There is a 7-day free trial. If you do not yet own the program, we recommend signing up for the free trial 3-4 days in advance of the workshop, install it on your computer and make sure it's compatible and functioning. If you run into problems and wish to cancel your registration, we can offer refunds up to 24 hours in advance. Refunds are not provided for cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance. You can register for the free trial of Adobe Premiere Pro (or purchase it) here. Starting the free trial 3-4 days in advance will give you some time to decide after taking the workshop if you'd like to continue using the program on a paid basis.
For this workshop, you'll need:
- A computer, smartphone or tablet to attend the workshop on, via Zoom - A separate computer with Adobe Premiere Pro installed (there are versions for both Windows and Mac operating systems. Check the system requirements here). Please note, this workshop will NOT cover the Adobe Premiere Rush program, which is a similar program designed to operate on mobile devices. Please make sure you have installed and tested the program in advance of signing in for the workshop. - Headphones are recommended, though not required.
The video below includes some of the features that will be discussed in the workshop.
