Made in Chicago, ca. 1930. Fully reconditioned 17-fret Irish tenor banjo with beautiful bird's-eye maple sturdy flat-head rim and new top-frosted mylar head. Strong, clear tone in a compact design. Excellent player.
This is a composite of two similar Slingerland banjos. Solid, high quality construction and hardware typical of Slingerlands, with some plating loss on hooks; minor wear. Three-piece bound maple neck with pearl diamond position markers, upgraded with Gotoh planetary pegs, new ebony heelcap and refinished in lacquer. Tension tailpiece and new reproduction armrest. Strung for Irish tuning, GDAE.
Set up and guaranteed 90 days for structural integrity and playability by luthier-owner. Sold cosmetically as-is. A great starter or travel tenor banjo. Refurbished, sturdy old hardshell case is included.
