Ca. 1925. Slingerland Co. Model 24, stamped Washington on strust for another distributor. Heavy 8" rim with mahogany veneer, steel tone-hoop under head. 16-fret mahogany neck, 13" (soprano) scale with rosewood fretboard, dyed pearwood peghead overlay, pearl diamond position markers, bone nut. Quality nickel-plated hardware: tension hoop from another Slingerland banjo-uke, neck notch not original. 16 original flat hooks with little plating left, L-shoes, original high quality friction tuners. New tailpiece.
Good older (original?) vellum head (has been turned inside out). Outside of rim may have been previously refinished. Inside had been stripped of black paint and is now newly restored to original. Professionally set up with Aquila nylgut strings, new maple/ebony bridge. Wonderful tone and strong projection. A highly sought after, quality instrument in great condition. Guaranteed 60 days by luthier-owner for structural integrity and playability. No case.
