JA Sloan & Son Folding Openback Banjo (used)

Regular price $ 1,399.00

JA Sloan & Son 5-string openback banjo with neck that folds at the 12th fret, for traveling. We are not sure of the year made, but according to the Sloan Banjos website, John A. Sloan retired in 2003 and the business was taken over by his son Peter, and then later to his other son Philip. At some point the company name was changed to Sloan Banjos. Their current folding banjo is known as the Jo2Go.

This banjo has a clear head, which looks quite striking over the aluminum alloy tone ring with holes. Maple rim, mahogany neck, ebony fretboard, dual coordinator rods. Our senior luthier did a full setup on the banjo (with D'Addario Light-plus strings), and wrote up detailed instructions for the neck folding process which are included. The future buyer should read carefully - it's easy to lose track of some of the small parts if done in a rushed manner.

The included case is made for resonator banjo and is large for the instrument, but will be packed well for shipping. Within the continental US, shipping is $75.
