Martin D-28S guitar in excellent condition.
s/n 292303 (made in 1971)
This beautiful Martin has been restored by a certified Martin luthier. There are some nicks at the base of the neck (pictured) and some very light scratches in the top finish (pictured). Otherwise this guitar has a fresh setup and is ready to play. The Martin D-28S is a rare and highly regarded 12-fret vintage acoustic guitar produced by C.F. Martin & Company from 1954 to 1993. The "S" designation stands for "Standard" (referring to the traditional, early Martin design), featuring a slotted headstock and a longer, elongated body shape that meets the neck at the 12th fret rather than the modern 14th fret. The D-28S is often considered the most balanced and powerful of Martin's 12-fret "S" models. The elongated body generates massive volume, incredible projection, and rich overtones. While traditional dreadnoughts can skew heavily toward bass, the 12-fret design pulls out clear trebles and a strong mid-range, making it an excellent choice for both bluegrass flatpicking and traditional fingerstyle folk music.
