Over time, the fingerboard will fade to a golden brown color. Osage Orange is very strong and hard wearing. It makes an excellent fingerboard.
All of the wood in this instrument came from the continental U.S. Note the classic ball shoes on the rim. The cute little soft stuffed toy when left between the connecting rod and the head will act as a partial mute clipping a bit of the high twang from the sound.
