The Bacon and Day (B&D) Sultana Silver Bell Tenor Banjo is widely recognized as one of the most flamboyant, visually distinctive, and finest pre-war 4-string tenor banjos ever created. Manufactured by the Fred Bacon Banjo Company in Groton, Connecticut, the Sultana line is celebrated by jazz and traditional musicians for its powerful "cutting" acoustic presence and stunning aesthetic styling. This Bacon and Day banjo is decked out! Estimated to be from the 1920s-30s, it is beautiful and appears to have most original parts excluding the bridge. It comes with a knee-operated mute pedal which dampens the sound significantly. It is missing the neck button -- this does not affect functionality.
