Made in Nippon, Japan, ca. 1920. No label.
Well made, fully blocked violin. Japanese were trained by German craftsmen. Close-grain spruce top and lightly figured two-piece back and ribs of Manchurian maple.
Fully professionally reconditioned and upgraded. Top regraduated and new bass-bar installed, producing great tonal range for the price, as well as new pegs, soundpost, bridge and ebony fittings. Top crack to right of bridge professionally repaired with internal cross-grain reinforcement cleats. Set up with Thomastik Dominant synthetic-core strings.
