The golden-voiced offspring of a mandola (the mandolin-family equivalent of the viola) and a five-string banjo, The Gold Tone Banjola is yet another of our banjo variants that are meant to expand the player's tonal vocabulary. Light in weight and easy to finger, the Banjola is wonderful for fills and solos in all kinds of music. The super-comfortable curly maple neck has a bound rosewood fretboard and the curly maple mandola body is bound top and back as well. The natural-finish solid spruce top picks up the energy from the moveable ebony bridge and multiplies it into a lovely, expressive sound that will enhance ballads and instrumental music equally nicely. The planetary-gear tuning machines and the mandolin-style tailpiece are chrome-plated and the nut and bridge saddle are made of real bone for the best tone possible.
