American-made mandolin, with back of 15 rosewood ribs, fine spruce top, ebony fretboard and faceplate. Extended 20-fret fingerboard (introduced ca. 1901) with nicely engraved position marker inlays. Fully labeled inside and stamped on end of headstock.
Has been extensively, expertly reconditioned with new and added internal bracing to correct top distortion-- photos available; new body and neck binding, new compensated bone saddle on vintage bridge. One thoroughly repaired top crack. Original tuners and tailpiece. Set up with extra-light gauge strings (recommended).
Clear, focused tone. Guaranteed for playability and structural soundness 90 days by luthier-owner. Cosmetically as is. With poor condition old canvas chipboard case missing hinges, latches.
