This is a very nice professional-grade sitar - the previous owner (a pro player in our area who is moving back to India) purchased it new in 2000. Gayaki style (6-string), single toomba. Both bridges appear to be ebony or rosewood. There is a previously repaired crack in the gourd which is visible, but stable (could potentially be refinished to hide the repair). There is also a small piece of binding (about 5/8") missing. We can potentially have our sitar repairperson replace this if a future buyer wishes, though the binding may not match exactly. The sitar is in excellent playing condition.
A sturdy hardshell fiberglass case is included.
We would prefer to sell this sitar locally to avoid shipping - shipping fragile sitars can be risky, and expensive. We will entertain shipping inquiries from serious potential buyers in the US only - please include your full shipping address when you contact us, and we will get back to you with a quote.
