McKinley chose the Audio Technica ATH-M Series Headphones as one of her Staff Picks -- here's what she has to say about them!
"Up until I purchased these headphones from HMT in 2020, I had been on a grueling, 5-year-long quest to find the perfect headphones that would allow me to record and mix my own music from home without sacrificing quality or spending the bulk of my savings account. I went through four pairs of 'studio quality' headphones, the first of which sounded as dull and dumb as a blunted baseball bat; another of those failed headphone experiments (which cost $100 on eBay) sounded like they were playing sound through two rusted metal trashcans.
Then came the ATH-M Series to the rescue! They're more on the affordable side of recording quality headphones; they maintain an astonishing amount of clarity in the low end; and the higher frequencies that are notorious for becoming thin and ice-picky sound so incredibly healthy and rich. I have since used them to mix four studio-length albums and several dozen live shows, and I am happy to say that these headphones are a perfect purchase and I'll be sticking with them for some years to come!"
