Simple and elegant turn-of-the-century banjo by the famous Lyon & Healy company. Fully reconditioned and in excellent cosmetic and playing condition. Metal "spun-over" wood rim with sturdy tension hoop, 20 original hooks and nuts, all in fine shape, though most nickel rim plating is gone, showing brass. South American rosewood fretboard and faceplate. Rare original L&H tailpiece (front bar replaced).
Calfskin head produces authentic old-time sound. Good older 2:1 ratio geared tuners in place of original violin-type taper pegs; friction 5th peg.
