Musical Traditions Lap Dulcimer, ca. 1975 (used)

Regular price $ 325.00

Musical Traditions 4-string lap dulcimer, made by Hank Levin circa 1975. It is solid cherry, with wood friction pegs (adjusted and working decently; pegs could be upgraded to geared by our luthier for about $200).

A slight "antique look " has occurred along the top edges. This happened because the dulcimer was in contact with the velour lining of the case. It adds a nice patina even though it was unintentional! This is a one owner instrument from a longtime faithful customer. No cracks or open seams. There are a few nicks and light scratches commensurate with age, and some wear on the fingerboard which does not affect playability. Cherrywood gives a very sweet sound, not too much bass, not too treble. Volume is strong but not harsh or unbalanced.

The included hard case shows plenty of wear, but is still functional. Noters and a few extra strings are also included. Shipping is $50 within the continental US.
