A one-of-a-kind instrument! This 10-string tenor mandolin was made in 1991 by famed Canadian luthier William "Grit" Laskin. It comes to us from our good friend Marcy Marxer, a Grammy-winning artist who is downsizing her instrument collection. Marcy is the 3rd owner; original owner was folk legend Tom Chapin!

Laskin is well-known for his inlay artistry, and this instrument features a gorgeous custom inlay piece on the headstock. It has a spruce top, nicely flamed maple back, sides & neck, Schaller tuners, and internal microphone which has been tested and is functioning fine. It has a 1 5/8" nut, 20.25" scale length and 33" overall length.

Though there is some superficial finish cracking that has developed over the years, there are no body cracks or structural/playability issues.

An oversized hardshell case is included - instrument will be packed securely inside for shipping. Extra strings and string gauge chart also included.

Fully insured shipping by UPS Ground within the continental US is $100. Serious buyers outside the continental US should contact us for a shipping quote - please include your full address. International buyers are responsible for all applicable customs fees & import duties.
