Two small gourds filled with seeds, connected by a string. These originate in West Africa (the supplier we work with imports theirs from Ghana) and go by many names: tellavi, televi, asalato, aslatua, kashaka, cas cas and more. A deceptively simple percussion instrument that can get quite complicated with impressive technique! See the video for an example of a master player.
This listing is for TWO PAIRS - one for each hand, or have a backup/share one with a friend! If you order a quantity of two, you will receive 4 pairs.
Sizes vary. The string length averages about 3.5-4".
By nature of the material they are made of, these are fragile instruments. You'll want to monitor your amount of "force" when playing them as the two gourds strike each other.
